Course Title : COMPUTER APPLICATION (Skills Development Course)

Course Duration: 6 months (Part-Time)

Course Description: This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of computer basics, operating systems, and commonly used office productivity tools. The course is designed to equip students with the skills required to use various computer applications effectively.

Course Objectives:

  1. To introduce students to computer fundamentals and the basic components of a computer system.
  2. To provide an understanding of operating systems and their functions.
  3. To provide a thorough understanding of commonly used office productivity tools, including MS Paint, Note Pad, Word Pad, MS Word, Advanced MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Outlook, MS Publish, and Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime with GST.
  4. To provide a basic understanding of financial accounting.
  5. To provide an understanding of internet basics and basic cyber security.

Course Outline:

Module 1: Computer Fundamentals (1 month)

  • Introduction to Computer Basics: Components of a computer system, computer architecture, computer generations, and computer languages.
  • Input and Output Devices: Understanding input and output devices, their types, and functions.
  • Operating Systems: An overview of operating systems, their functions, and commonly used operating systems.

Module 2: Office Productivity Tools (2 months)

  • MS Paint: An introduction to MS Paint, its functions, and how to use it.
  • Note Pad and Word Pad: An introduction to Note Pad and Word Pad, their functions, and how to use them.
  • MS Word: Introduction to MS Word, creating and formatting documents, using templates, headers and footers, and tables.
  • Advanced MS Excel: Introduction to MS Excel, creating and formatting worksheets, working with formulas and functions, using charts and graphs, and data analysis.
  • MS PowerPoint: Introduction to MS PowerPoint, creating and formatting presentations, adding images, videos, and audio, and using animation effects.
  • MS Access: Introduction to MS Access, creating and formatting databases, creating tables, queries, forms, and reports.
  • MS Outlook: Introduction to MS Outlook, setting up email accounts, composing and sending emails, organizing emails, and scheduling appointments and meetings.
  • MS Publish: Introduction to MS Publish, creating and formatting newsletters, brochures, and flyers.

Module 3: Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime with GST (2 months)

  • Introduction to Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime: Overview of Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime, their features, and functions.
  • Financial Accounting: An introduction to financial accounting, understanding accounting concepts, principles, and types of accounts.
  • GST (Goods and Services Tax): Understanding the basics of GST, its types, and the GST tax structure.
  • Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime with GST: Understanding Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime with GST, creating and managing ledgers, vouchers, and invoices, generating financial reports, and GST returns.

Module 4: Internet and Cyber Security (1 month)

  • Introduction to the Internet: Understanding the basics of the internet, its types, and commonly used web browsers.
  • Cyber Security: Understanding the basics of cyber security, identifying cyber threats, and implementing basic security measures.
